MULTIMEDIA TECHNOLOGIES

Multimedia Technologies and Application Design provides students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to understand, design, develop, and evaluate modern multimedia applications.

The course introduces the fundamental concepts of multimedia and examines how different media elements—including text, images, graphics, audio, video, animation, and interactive content—are created, processed, integrated, stored, and delivered through computer systems.

Students study important multimedia technologies such as digital media formats, image and audio processing, video technologies, animation, compression techniques, multimedia hardware and software, streaming, web-based multimedia, and multimedia storage and distribution.

A major emphasis of the course is multimedia application design. Students learn how to identify user requirements, plan multimedia projects, develop storyboards and navigation structures, design effective user interfaces, integrate different media elements, and create interactive multimedia applications.

The course also introduces principles of user experience (UX), accessibility, usability, copyright and intellectual property, multimedia security, emerging multimedia technologies, and the use of Artificial Intelligence in multimedia production.

Through practical exercises and projects, students apply multimedia concepts using appropriate tools to create digital graphics, edit audio and video, develop animations, design interactive interfaces, and produce a complete multimedia application. By the end of the course, students should be able to plan, design, develop, test, evaluate, and present multimedia solutions for real-world applications in areas such as education, business, entertainment, advertising, communication, training, and the web.
